A highlight of this year’s Homecoming activities was the induction of the first class into the Half-Century Club. Twenty-one graduates from the years 1952-1962 were inducted in a special ceremony Saturday morning in the Ronald V. Mitchell Lecture Hall. Family and friends watched as each inductee was presented a medallion bearing the official Central Baptist College seal. Norman Crass, class of 61, followed the induction with comments about his time at CBC, both as a student and employee. Kenneth Brown, accompanied by his wife Marie, was recognized as an honorary member of the Half-Century Club. Though Bro. Brown was the very first student to enroll at CBC, he didn’t graduate because the college did not offer the degree he needed at the time. He transferred to another institution to complete his degree and then returned to CBC where he taught History for forty years.
