CBC Overpowers Shepherd College

By Log Cabin Democrat

Central Baptist College began with a 14-0 run Tuesday and never let up in a 89-51 romp over Shepherd College in men’s basketball.

Every CBC player scored as the Mustangs (3-0) took a 58-16 halftime lead.

“It’s great as a coach to see our guys support each other,” said coach Josh Austin. “It didn’t matter if they were in the game. I saw high-fives and cheers. These guys are coming together as a team and that is what’s important.”

CBC had five players in double figures for the second game in a row. Senior Ryan Barnes led the Mustangs with 18 points. Sophomore Brady Batson had 14 points while sophomore Eric Haynie and freshman Jay Phillips ended with 12. Senior CJ McCoy had 10 points.
