CBC Alumni Stories

My name is Eduard Morales, I am originally from a town in Spain called Palafrugell, located near Barcelona. I came to the United States as an exchange student in Arkansas 6 years ago. I am a fresh CBC graduate and I am currently in the search for my dream career.

Why I Chose CBC

I just graduated with a Bachelor´s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in International Business. That was one of the reasons that drew me to CBC, when I was looking for colleges. I knew I wanted to pursue an International Business degree and CBC was one of the few colleges in Arkansas that offered it. Being a golfer, I wanted to attend a college that was in a location with good weather year round, and was small enough for me to be known by name and not a number. Also, a big factor for me was affordability and the staff at Central Baptist College did a great job helping me find all the scholarships that were available.

My CBC Experience

I attended CBC from Fall 2015 to Spring 2019, for a total of 8 semesters full of new experiences and great memories. While at CBC I worked in the Financial Aid office as a student assistant. Then, just recently I worked as a Marketing Intern at CTEH.  My favorite part about my CBC experience was the people I got to meet along the way. I felt that all my professors cared about helping their students and that all my teammates and classmates were not just “mates” but also friends. I really enjoyed my experience as a college athlete and how much support I got from everyone on campus.

My Dream Career

CBC has prepared me for my career through a very practical, hands on teaching method. I never felt forced to memorize any material, but the teacher’s objective was always for us to understand the material. Even if that meant taking field trips. As a Business major, our professors helped us prepare for job interviews through mock interviews, simulating business settings, delivering presentations, and much more. All those efforts made us feel comfortable for the day when we must do those tasks in the marketplace. I started to use my degree during my freshman year of college. I started a food truck business in Spain. I operated it during the summer breaks and I just recently sold it.

A Special Place

CBC will always have a special place in my heart because of the lifelong friends I have met there. The life lessons I have learned and the opportunities it has opened for me. After giving it a lot of thought I decided that I would like to stay in Conway for the next few years to be close to my soon-to-be wife Miah.
