My name is Hollie Butler and I am from Lavaca, Arkansas. I earned a General Studies degree in May 2020, but my career pursuit is pre-school education. The reason I chose CBC was because I wanted to go to a smaller Christian college. However, I knew immediately that CBC was the college for me.
What I Wanted in a College
When I started looking at colleges, I knew I didn’t want to go to a large university where I didn’t mean anything to the professors and I hardly knew anyone on campus. So, my senior year of high school I had no idea where I wanted to go, but one of my teachers knew what I wanted in a college and she recommended CBC.
So, I applied and scheduled a campus visit. As soon as I arrived on campus and got out of the car I felt like I was home. I knew immediately Central Baptist College was where God wanted me.
CBC Really Cares
One of my favorite parts of my CBC experience were the friendships I made. I know those friendships will last the rest of my life.
Another one of my favorite parts was getting to know the faculty and staff. The professors at CBC really care about the students and they want to help all the students any way they can.
For example, during my junior year two of my grandparents passed away and multiple professors and staff asked if they could pray over me. They went above and beyond for me during that difficult time in my life.
Career Preparation
CBC helped me prepare for my career by guiding me to take the classes I needed to be a successful preschool teacher. Also, the CBC community of faculty, staff, and students helped me make multiple preschool connections before I graduated.
My CBC Experience Meant so Much
My college experience meant so much to me because without CBC I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have grown so much in my walk with God and I was surrounded by students and faculty that had the same goal and focus in mind. This is why I knew immediately that CBC was the college for me.
I Am Beyond Grateful
As I think back at the years I spent at CBC, I am beyond grateful for the friendships that will last a lifetime and all the opportunities CBC has given me.
