Hi everyone, my name is Kaylee St. John and I was born and raised in the great town of Conway, AR! I currently live in Star City, AR and am the Executive Administrator at New Life Church in Pine Bluff, AR. I played Softball and majored in Business Administration.
Business Administration – Marketing
I came to Central Baptist College in the fall of 2015 like most high school graduates having absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
After three semesters of not knowing I decided on a whim to declare a major. In the 2016 spring semester I joined the Business Department, where I emphasized in Marketing and went on to graduate in December of 2019 with my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration!
Why I Chose CBC
I personally chose to attend CBC because I was offered a scholarship to play softball for the Lady Mustangs. I have enjoyed softball since I was about 4 years old.
At first, I was skeptical at the thought of going to an NAIA school, because as you know every young athlete wants to go NCAA Division I.
Well God had other plans for me. Little did I know of the relationships and spiritual growth I would experience at CBC.
My Favorite CBC Experiences
Some of my favorite experiences as a CBC student came from softball and building those relationships with people from all around the world (shout out to the international students).
A specific experience I’ll never forget was in 2018, when the softball team won NCCAA National Tournament in Virginia, which is a very BIG accomplishment! The next year we went on to receive a bid to the NAIA National Tournament in Indiana. Although we did not go as far as we wanted, it was such a great experience and a great way to end my athletic career!
But athletics isn’t everything.
How CBC Has Prepared Me
I do believe that CBC has also prepared me for my future off the softball field in many ways.
First, being a student athlete taught me so much about time management. This was one of the hardest things to learn, especially for someone who is very proficient in procrastination.
I also loved my business classes and how engaging the teachers were. CBC is a small school, which means we can build those relationships and connect with our teachers much easier than a big university could.
This is why Central Baptist College means so much to me.
What I Didn’t Know
I came here thinking I would go to school, make some friends on the softball team and graduate after four years.
But what I didn’t know is that it would take me four and a half years to earn my bachelor’s degree and that I would meet so many great people along the way.
Thankful the Lord Brought Me to CBC
The past four years have not been easy by any means, I’ve gone through A LOT of highs and lows. But all those hardships, late night study sessions, gaining and losing friends and many more unexpected things have brought me to where I am today.
I am so thankful that the Lord brought me to CBC where I could freely grow closer to Him, because as much as I hate to admit it, I was very far away from Him.
But here I am on the other side, living and breathing for our good Father. I can’t wait to see what journey He takes me on next!
