Admissions Process

If you are a resident of another country and would like to attend Central Baptist College, you’re in the right place!

​

All steps below must be complete and received by the Admissions Office no later than July 15th for fall semester enrollment and November 1st for spring semester enrollment.

Documents for Admission

 

  • Application for Admission and $25 Application Fee.

  • Test Scores (For First-Time Entering Freshmen)

    • ACT: Must earn at least a 19 Composite score and a minimum reading score of 19 on

    • SAT: 19 equivalent

    • Accuplacer: 250 Composite & 250 Accuplacer Reading or a 980 EBRW+M on the SAT

  • Official transcripts Complete & translated in English, of all secondary and university work.

  • International Student Education & Financial Responsibility Form and supporting documentation

  • Transfer Authorization Form (For college transfer students only) Must be complete and received by the above deadlines

  • Proof of English Language Proficiency (Submit one of the following & Freshmen only)

    • ACT: 19 minimum on the English portion of the exam.

    • SAT: 26 minimum on the Writing/Language and Reading portion

    • Accuplacer: 250 minimum on the Next Generation Writing

    • Gateway English Test - English3 - FREE for the fall semester

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Official TOEFL Score Report, sent directly from ETS (CBC’s TOEFL code is 0788)

      • Paper-based exam:  500 minimum score

      • Computer-based exam: 173 minimum score

      • iBT: 61 minimum score 173

    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS): 5.5 minimum score

    • Cambridge English/Advanced (CAE): 162 minimum score

    • Pearson English Academic (PTE): 42 minimum score

NOTE: Other institutional TOEFL results or completion of an English as a Second Language program will not be accepted.

Admissions Process

Acceptance Next Steps

 

An I-20 Form will be issued only after you have been accepted for admission at Central Baptist College. Financial aid for international students is, unfortunately, very limited. International students are not eligible for any financial aid provided by the US Government; however, academic or other institutional scholarship information can be found here.

Once accepted your Personal Admissions Officer will help you complete the following steps for enrollment:

  1. Submit a copy of your immunization records (Proof of 2 MMR shots required)

  2. Pay $100 Tuition Deposit (This amount is deducted from your final bill)*

  3. Complete the On-Campus or Off-Campus Housing Application

  4. Pay $150 Housing Deposit (On-Campus Only)*

  5. Submit your final official high school transcript or GED (Make sure the transcript includes class rank, GPA and graduation date)

  6. Complete FAFSA (Only applicable if you qualify and accept institutional awards, federal or state grants, or loans)

  7. Work with your Personal Admissions Counselor to register for classes

  8. Accept your financial aid award letter

  9. Pay your bill in full or make payment arrangements with the Business Office (If living on campus, your bill must be paid in full before move-in day)

 

*Required for Class Registration:

The Tuition Deposit is 100% refundable only if requested in writing before May 1st (June 1st, 2020 Due to COVID-19).

 

The Housing Deposit is refundable only if requested in writing before July 1st. The Application Fee is non-refundable. (Deposits and fees can be paid at separate times)

Current Student Resources

Here are some things you need to know to keep your student VISA active while you attend college in the United States. 

​

  1. Keep your I-20 information current.

  2. Stay enrolled in at least 12 credit hours each semester.

  3. A designated school official (DSO) must update & sign your I-20 before you travel.

  4. Work with a DSO to adjust your degree completion date, CPT & OPT.
