The Mustang Baseball program is producing professional baseball players.

Ben Madison

Ben Madison was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft. He pitched with the Giants Rookie League Orange team in Arizona last year and finished with no record and a 3.38 ERA in nine starts, striking out 23 and walking just nine in 16 innings. Madison earned a promotion in his second season to begin the year, starting with the Giants ‘A’ Ball team in Augusta, Ga. In eight appearances for the Green Jackets, Madison went 4-0 with a 4.58 ERA and 19 strikeouts against 7 walks in 19.2 innings. He then earned a promotion to the Giants short season ‘A’ Ball team in Salem, Ore., the Salem-Kaizer Volcanoes, on June 21 and has made two scoreless appearances for the Volcanoes with no decision in either outing, striking out three and walking four while pitching every fifth day.

Jamal Washington

Jamal Washington earned a professional contract as a two-way player with the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League in New Mexico. Washington was traded early in the season to the California City Whiptails and has performed well. In 13 games batting, Washington hit .391 with six runs scored, two RBIs and seven stolen bases. He has also appeared in nine games pitching and has an 0-3 record and 30 strikeouts in 24 innings.
