CBC Employees Honored at 2019 Employee Appreciation and Awards Luncheon

Central Baptist College honored faculty and staff for their service to Central Baptist College at the annual Employee Appreciation and Awards Luncheon on Monday, April 15th. Below is a list of employees who were honored. 


30 years of service: Angela Russell, Executive Assistant to the President and Henry Smiley, Professor of English; 


15 years of service: Lyle Middleton, Athletic Director and Head Womens Basketball /Heads Mens Golf/Head Womens Golf Coach and Stephen Raines, Assistant Professor of Social Studies & Government; 


10 years of service: Ryan Johnson, Vice President for Enrollment Management and Billie Rodriguez, Assistant Director of Dining Services; 


5 years of service: Jerry Clifton, Director of Physical Plant and Rhonda Shipp, Senior Accountant; 


3 years of service: Peter Acuna, Assistant Wrestling Coach; Lynsey Brown, Caf 52 Manager; Dr. Blake Duffield, Assistant Professor of History; Britni Elder, Human Resources Director; Tim Gunter, Fine Arts Department Chair; Kassidy Irwin, Lab Assistant; Jordon Jones, Womens Softball Coach; Dr. Joshua Kwekel, Associate Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; Frank Lee, Assistant Professor of Kinesiology and Assistant Baseball Coach; Cezar Terlea, Cross County Coach; Brooks Walthall, Director of PACE Enrollment. 


The 2019 Employee of the Year award was also announced. Nominated by letter or e-mail to the President, the employee was required to meet the following criteria: loyalty to the institution, demonstration of a good work ethic, positive attitude toward fellow workers and students, and professionalism. The award went to CBCs Administrative Assistant to the President, Peggy Pillow. 


2019 Outstanding Faculty Awards were presented by Dr. Gary McAllister, Vice President for Academic Affairs. Robin Clark, Assistant Professor of Education, received the Outstanding Faculty Award and Kelly Baldwin received the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award. Nine Individuals were selected for the 


Presidents Awards. The recipients were: Marieca Ashworth for Customer Delight; Steve Elder for Excellence; Clint Galyean for Outstanding Achievement; Duffy Guyton for Dedication; Erik Holth for Behind the Scenes; Jordon Jones for Outstanding Achievement; Dr. Joshua Kwekel for Excellence; Billie Rodriguez for Behind the Scenes; and Rachel Whittingham for Leadership. Two other awards were handed out at the luncheon: 


The Fred Award was presented to Britni Elder for her exemplification of the four principles of being a Fred, which are making a difference each day, having a heart for people, changing ordinary moments into memorable ones and leading by example. 


The C.A.R.E. (Creating a Rare Experience) Award went to Brooks Walthall for his work in benefitting the employees, students and visitors of CBC.
