Central Baptist College Announces New Coaches

CENTRAL BAPTIST COLLEGE ATHLETICS ANNOUNCES NEW COACHES

Conway, Ark. – Central Baptist College Director of Athletics Lyle Middleton is pleased to announce the hiring of three new coaches to the CBC Athletic Staff- Thabo Masoga, Dylan Perdue, and Ally Swaim.

Middleton recently announced the resignation of Director of Soccer Lance Gordon. To replace him, assistant coaches Dylan Perdue and Thabo Masoga have been promoted to head coaches, with Perdue tabbed to lead the men’s program and Masoga in line to lead the women.

“I’m excited to add Dylan and Thabo as the new men’s and women’s coaches,” said Middleton. “Both of them played here and will bring a vision, as former players, and now as coaches to continue the success.”

Perdue is a CBC alum and played goalkeeper for three seasons. He led the reserve team and coached goalkeepers last season, helping Jasper Gadella become the most played keeper in the program’s history for a single season. He has also played for both the Little Rock Rangers and Arkansas Wolves and has coached the Rangers in an assistant capacity for the past two seasons. He was previously a volunteer assistant coach at Maumelle and has coached at Real Arkansas. “I am thankful to President (Terry) Kimbrow and Coach Middleton for providing me with the opportunity to guide this program,” said Perdue. “I’d also like to thank Coach Gordon for mentoring me, as well as propelling this team in the right direction for the past few seasons. It is my hope and intention to continue that progress. I feel confident that my coaching experience with the (Little Rock) Rangers USL2 team during the past year has provided me with qualities and abilities to lead this team in continued growth on and off the pitch.

Masoga has spent the past three years as the assistant coach for the women’s program and has previously coached girls soccer at the club level for Arkansas United. He played four seasons of soccer at CBC from 2012-15 as a defender. “I’m really honored to be the women’s head coach,” said Masoga. “My prior work with Coach Gordon has prepared me for this opportunity. I’ve been coaching for 10 years now, and I’ve been at CBC since 2019 so I feel like I’m fully prepared for this. This has been a dream of mine and I’ll be ready for all challenges that come our way. I’d like to thank President Kimbrow and Coach Middleton for giving me this opportunity. I’d also like to thank Coach Gordon for helping me become a better coach in my time working with him. This has been a goal of mine for quite some time, and I pray that I do a great job.”

Middleton has also announced a transition in the coaching of the Track & Field and Cross Country programs. Addy Foree, the coach for the past two seasons, has resigned and her sister, Ally Swaim, has been hired to replace her.

“I’m excited to add Ally as the new head coach,” said Middleton. “She was a tremendous athlete who had great success as a runner with seven championships. She will continue to add to what her sister worked to build.”

Swaim ran both cross country and track for five seasons for the Mustangs, from 2018 to 2023. She was a three-time American Midwest Conference champion in the 100-meter hurdles in outdoor track and an AMC champion in the 400-meter hurdles in outdoor track as well. She also won indoor track championships in the 60-meter hurdles (2022 & 2023) and the 200-meter dash (2022).

“I’m excited to be coaching the Mustangs’ Cross Country and Track programs,” said Swaim. “I loved every minute of being a part of the team and I’m so thankful I do not have to give that up after being a student-athlete the last five years. My goal is to grow the team over the next few years. Central Baptist College is such an amazing place to be a part of and I’m so thankful to be here. Go Mustangs!”

Swaim graduated this past May with a degree in General Studies and a minor in Kinesiology. She is from Vilonia and helped launch the track program in the Spring of 2019.
