Central Baptist College Homecoming is set for January 28 and 29, 2022
October 18, 2021
Next year marks Central Baptist College’s 70th Birthday and we have plans to celebrate all year long; starting with Homecoming 2022. CBC will host its annual Homecoming activities on Friday, January 28, and Saturday, January 29, 2022. Several events will take place during the week as we gear up for our main events on Friday and Saturday.
We are bringing back the Chili Cook-Off this year in the Mabee Student Center. Students, alumni, and faculty/staff are encouraged to compete. This will be held on Wednesday, January 26, during lunch 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Registration is FREE; all we ask is that you provide enough chili for our students to sample. The event will have free admission and our Dining Services Staff will be providing hot dogs to accompany the chili. To register a Chili Cook-Off team, email Amy Reed at areed@cbc.edu.
The Stampede Open House for prospective students is Friday beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Story Library. Students interested in CBC will learn more about scholarships, financial aid, the admissions process, and much more. Students may sign up at cbc.edu/visit.
Dust off your leather jackets and poodle skirts and join us for our 70th Anniversary Celebration! Beginning at 5:30 p.m., we want to take you back to 1952. Join us on CBC’s Campus for a fun night of food and fun….1952 style! This event will be free, so bring your family to this blast from the past. Costumes are encouraged so start making those plans now!
Immediately following our birthday celebration, we will kick off the 2ndAnnual Battle of the Bands.
Students, alumni, and staff are encouraged to participate. For more information contact Marieca Ashworth at mashworth@cbc.edu.
On Saturday, we will recognize our 1971-1975 graduates at our Half-Century Club Induction. The induction will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Mitchell Lecture Hall. Light refreshments will be served. We hope to see many graduates back on campus to help us celebrate the weekend. If you happen to be one of the 71-75 graduates, be on the lookout for more information in the coming weeks.
The CBC Alumni Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. in the Dining Hall of the Mabee Student Service Building. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at cbc.edu/homecoming. Proceeds from the luncheon will go towards the Kenneth Brown Scholarship. Awards will be given to four alumni who have demonstrated incredible service to their community, their careers, and steadfast faith. Award winners will be announced in January.
The highlight of the day begins in A.R.Reddin Fieldhouse at 1:00 p.m. with the Lady Mustangs taking on Hannibal-LaGrange University. The 2022 Homecoming Court will be announced after the women’s game and will be followed by the Mustangs going head to head with Hannibal-LaGrange University.
