Galyean Selected to Lead Men's Basketball

Central Baptist College athletic director Lyle Middleton has announced the resignation of mens basketball coach Chris Wright, effective May 11. Replacing Wright will be his top assistant from this past season, Clint Galyean. Galyean, 23, spent last season as the assistant coach at CBC, helping the Mustangs to a 21-9 record and an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. He was also pivotal is helping four Mustangs earn academic all-conference awards and another four Mustangs get selected to the AMC all-conference teams, with DaJon Streeter also being selected as an honorable mention All-America by the NAIA. Prior to CBC, Galyean was a graduate assistant at Angelo State, an NCAA Division II school in San Angelo, Texas.
There, he coached with Coach Wright, whom he followed to CBC and was an assistant at Angelo State, and also coached with head coach Cinco Boone. I am extremely excited and thankful to be the head mens basketball coach at Central Baptist College, said Galyean. I am looking forward to building off the success this program has established over the past few seasons. The vision for this program is to help our student-athletes be successful on and off the court as we compete for championships, assist them in graduating from CBC and grow them in their faith. Galyean earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Angelo State in 2016 and completed his masters in coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration also from Angelo State in 2018. The Eastland, Texas, native resides in Conway.
