Inclement Weather Announcement

February 16, 2021

Due to the current inclement weather conditions and the continued concerns regarding electrical power disruptions across the state, Central Baptist College is cancelling classes for Wednesday, February 17 and Thursday, February 18, and campus offices will be closed.

Governor Hutchinson today asked for all Arkansans to do their part to conserve energy as the situation around the state and region remains critical. We also want to alleviate concerns that employees and students may have about power outages and not being able to perform their work or coursework. Essential campus services will continue to operate throughout this time. Central Baptist College Dining Services will continue to operate on the Saturday schedule with brunch being served from 10:30am until noon and dinner being served from 4:45pm until 5:30pm.

While the CBC Student Health Clinic is closed, students and employees may contact Conway Regional Health System if they are experiencing COVID symptoms or have an exposure to someone who has a positive COVID test and feel a test is warranted. You must have a COVID test ordered to be able to have a test administered. First contact the COVID Call Center at 501-506-2747 between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm daily. A screening will be performed by a Conway Regional nurse, and if applicable, an order for a COVID test will be generated. Registration and scheduling for testing at the drive-thru will be done at that time. The Drive Thru Testing Center is open today through Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Regular operating hours will resume on Saturday. For more information visit https://www.conwayregional.org/covid-19/covid-19-education-partnership. Remember to continue to report if you are a close contact of a known positive COVID individual or if you have a positive COVID test to cmitchell@cbc.edu. If a health need unrelated to COVID arises, employees and students should contact their local medical provider or a local urgent care clinic. Employees and students will be responsible for the charges associated with this care.

Conway Regional does operate an After Hours Clinic and offers telemedicine visits. Information about the After Hours Clinic can be found at https://www.conwayregional.org/locations/conway-regional-after-hours-clinic. Information about scheduling a telemedicine appointment can be found at https://conwayregional.org/telemed. Please take care as we all prepare for a second round of winter weather that will be bringing unusually low temperatures and more snow, beginning tonight, February 16, and continuing through Thursday, February 18.
