Luck, Steele, and Jacobsen to be recognized at Alumni Luncheon

The Central Baptist Colleges Alumni Board is pleased to announce that this years recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award is Alan Luck. The award is presented to an individual who has served their community for more than 20 years and demonstrates a legacy of service to CBC. Alan Luck attended CBC from 1979 to 1982 earning an Associate of Arts degree before finishing with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at UCA. While a student at CBC, Luck was involved in many organizations, but states that his greatest accomplishment as a Mustang was accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior. Luck has been a member of Antioch Baptist Church since 1969 and currently teaches the Genesis Bible Study class. Hes served on various church committees and has been on the CBC Alumni board over two different time spans, serving once as President in the 80s. 


Luck is married to Karen, and together they have two daughters, Courtney and Emily, and a son-in-law, Thomas Mobly. The Outstanding Young Alumnus is awarded to an individual who has been instrumental in the advancement of their chosen profession primarily within the last few years. This individual demonstrates the love of service within the community and continues to show interest in CBC. This years recipient of the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award is Rachel Steele. 


Steele graduated from CBC in 2011. She then went on to receive a Masters of Science in College Student Personnel and Administration from Arkansas Tech University. Steele started working for CBC in 2009 as an Admissions Counselor and currently serves as the Director of Student Services. Steele serves on the Conway Noon Rotary Board of Directors as the New Generations Director, and the Steering Committee as the Membership Director for the Conway Regional Womens Council. She is a member of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, the Arkansas College Personnel Association, and the Arkansas Association of Higher Education and Disability. Steele is married to Jake and they reside in Conway, Ark. 


The Mustang Community Impact Award is given to an individual who goes above and beyond to serve their community. They are a Mustangs through and through, and carry the values of CBC into the community. The Alumni Board is proud to announce that our first ever recipient of the Mustang Community Impact Award will be presented to Nick Jacobsen. Jacobsen is a native of Tacoma Washington. He earned his undergraduate degree from Central Baptist College in 2005. He currently works for the BMA of America as a Production Engineer. Jacobsen also works part time as a Case Manager at Bethlehem House, a transitional homeless shelter in Conway, Ark. 


Award Recipients will be honored at the Alumni Luncheon to be held as part of the CBC Homecoming Festivities on Saturday, February 20 at 11:45 a.m. Tickets can be reserved by e-mailing Meagan Lowry at mlowry@cbc.edu or calling 501-205-8870. Tickets are $11.
