Rainey Set to Deliver Commencement Addresses at CBC

Dennis Rainey, Co-founder of FamilyLife, a subsidiary of Campus Crusade for Christ, will deliver Central Baptist College's commencement addresses on Saturday, May 12th in the Burgess Auditorium. The commencement for the Professional Adult College Education (PACE) graduation will be held at 10:00 a.m., and the commencement for traditional students will be at 2:00 p.m. Rainey's leadership has enabled FamilyLife to grow into a dynamic and vital ministry that offers families blueprints for living godly lives, marriages, and families in more than 109 countries around the world. 


CBC President Terry Kimbrow said, I am thrilled to announce Dennis Rainey as CBC's commencement speaker. Rainey is best-selling author, radio personality, and a great role model for our graduates. This year's class consists of 130 graduates, 71 in the Traditional program and 43 in the PACE program. Both commencement ceremonies will conclude with student and academic processions through the Ratliff Bell Tower and a reception on the campus lawn. Rainey has authored or co-authored more than 35 books including the best-selling Moments Together for Couples and Staying Close. He has also received two Golden Medallion Awards from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. 


Rainey serves as the senior editor of the HomeBuilders Couples Series which has sold over 3 million copies and has been translated into 47 languages. A powerful and effective communicator, Rainey can be heard daily as host of the nationally syndicated radio program FamilyLife Today on more than 1100 radio stations/outlets in nearly all 50 states. He has been the recipient of the National Religious Broadcasters Radio Program of the Year Award twice. Rainey serves on the Board of Directors of FamilyLife, Dallas Theological Seminary and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. 


Rainey has spoken at over 150 Weekend to Remember Marriage Getaways across the United States and internationally. He has also spoken for Promise Keepers stadium events, YPO University Fellowship Forum, and FamilyLife's I Still Doâ„¢ arena events. He has testified on family issues before Congress and has appeared on numerous radio and television programs. Rainey earned a degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas and a master's degree in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. He also holds an honorary doctorate from Trinity Evangelical University and Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Dennis and his wife, Barbara have been married since 1972 and love laughing with their six children and a growing number of grandchildren. They live near Little Rock, Arkansas.
