Carolyn Weaver

Assistant Professor of Education

Like many Education majors, I grew up teaching dolls, stuffed animals and younger children in the neighborhood and at church. I always wanted to be a writer or a teacher, and thankfully I have been able to experience both throughout my career and in my current position working with Education majors at Central Baptist College. I enjoyed being a student at my alma maters, Lake Hamilton High School (FFA was my main extracurricular including judging on the National level) and The University of Arkansas (where I was heavily involved in Baptist Student Union including Missions.)

After marrying my best friend, Allen Weaver, I completed my teaching certificate, Reading Recovery certification, and my Masters’ Degree. I’ve taught in both public and private schools including Julia C. Frazier Elementary in Dallas where I was honored as Teacher of the Year and our school hosted a visit from George W. Bush. I also worked as a curriculum writer and specialist for Dallas Public Schools and held several positions, including Executive Editor, for Voyager Expanded Learning, Inc. I have worked in higher education at East Texas State University and LeTourneau University before coming to Central Baptist College in Fall 2019.

My husband, Allen, our three children (Lila, Alice, and Isaac) and I reside on a hobby farm on Rumble Ridge in El Paso, Arkansas. We enjoy doing farm stuff, playing and watching basketball (Go Mustangs and Warhawks!) traveling and spending time with family. I feel very blessed to teach in a Christ-centered environment like Central Baptist College.
