My name is Zac Lee, I am a senior at Central Baptist College. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and a Minor in Youth Ministry.
My Journey to CBC
At first, I didn’t even know about CBC. I was introduced to the college by a BMA (Baptist Church Denomination) friend at my house one day during my senior year. Initially, I wasn’t interested in going to CBC. I wanted to stay at home with my family and newly planted church congregation. I wanted to go to the community college there in Southaven, MS. However, the college sparked my dad’s interest. He scheduled a tour for me over the summer and I was hesitant to go, but little did I know what God had in store. I almost knew immediately when I stepped on campus that this was the place God wanted me to be. Now in my final year I can honestly say that I would not have changed my decision to attend CBC.
Proud to Call Myself a Mustang
I have made so many memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. My freshman year I got to live in the dorms with my roommate Max Sullivan. We became so close that we have been roommates ever since. We both started a small group on our floor that eventually blew up in one semester and became the official small groups of CBC that following school year. Those small groups are still going on to this day. My sophomore year I was placed in a student overflow house with Max, myself and four other guys. I have memories from that school year that I will most definitely never forget. Memories like playing basketball in our drive way till curfew and sitting out on our back porch just enjoying the weather and good conversation. Memories of twenty plus guys getting ready for Harvest Party in our house all at once.
In my junior year I lived in upper classmen housing with some of my best friends. Guys who will all be in my wedding. We made memories that all of us will hold on to forever. Like playing Fortnite during our lunch breaks. It is also the year that I met my fiancé and found out that she was indeed the love of my life. That was my most favorite school year of them all. Now, in my senior year. I have already made more memories. Some of those include heading up our couples’ small group, winning Harvest Party King and Queen with my fiancé, and winning the Wallyball Intramural Championship. All of that to say I’m proud to call myself a Mustang.
My CBC Family
There are so many events that I have been involved in like, M.U.D week when I first came in as a freshman, Hall Wars, SOS, all intramural sports. Joining worship choir my second semester, all the hype at the homecoming basketball games, joining the CBC disc golf team the second semester of my sophomore year. The Minister’s Association, the two years I was on the radio staff and did a sports talk show with Blake Pittman. And, as previously mentioned, all the Harvest Parties. CBC truly becomes a family when you get as involved as I’ve tried to be. Every minute of it has been worth it!
Life After Graduation
I’ve come to a point in my life where it’s time to focus on life after college. After I graduate, I will become a full-time student pastor at Oak Park Baptist Church, where I currently serve part-time. I will be getting married in May, the week after graduation. I cannot be more thankful for what CBC has given to me. Memories, friends, love, laughter, and fun, all things that I will hold close to my heart. I just hope that some day I can give as much back to CBC as it has given to me.
