In these uncertain times in our world, it is important to remember that God is in control. At Central Baptist College we are responding to the current COVID-19 pandemic as best we know how, and we are planning for what could possibly lie ahead. But, because we are rooted in Christ, we know that we need not fear. Psalm 46 tells us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Because He is our refuge and strength, we know that He will sustain us!
Social Distancing
Responding to the COVID-19 Pandemic has caused the country to practice “social distancing” and we find ourselves spending more time at home as many of the activities we participate in are cancelled or limited. This is a time that prospective students for the Fall 2020 semester, and their families, can make progress in the enrollment process.
I want to share with you some thoughts on my I think you should consider Central Baptist College as your number one college choice, and at the end I will give you some things you can do online while you are “social distancing.”
Small School with a Big Mission
Why should you or someone you know consider attending Central Baptist College? Because our sole purpose as an institution is for God to transform lives through education!
How do we do this?
By integrating our Christian faith and academic excellence in a Christ-centered environment. Christ-centered means that everything else revolves around Christ. It’s not just a nice thing to say. He is the true focus of our mission! What does this look like on our campus?
Students are Challenged
All our degree plans have a nine-hour Bible core to expose our students to the word of God. Many students minor in Bible and Missions so that they can be a bi-vocational missionary. Often the study of God’s word challenges students to realize that they have a greater calling to fulfill the Great Commission in their field of study.
Students are Engaged
Weekly chapel services are designed to challenge our students to engage with our Almighty God. Student led discipleship groups offer an inspiring opportunity to become more like Jesus and then spread the Gospel to their unsaved classmates. Faculty and staff pray with their students consistently before class or individually in advising appointments and other campus meetings.
Students are Inspired
Community service opportunities help our students show the love of Christ to our community. Employers tell us all the time that they love hiring CBC students. Faculty and staff meet to discuss how we can better serve our students and pray for them. There are formal leadership programs where students are mentored by staff, along with informal mentoring that happens by faculty or coaches. God has used this Christ-centered approach to save students every year and deepen the faith of our students!
Central Baptist College is more than an institution of higher education. It’s a mission field that is preparing students to shine their light for Christ!
